Personal Coaching
This page is a short interlude to share something beyond the course content.
I’m adding it here to share this news with you first, since you’re already following my course, know my methods, and therefore have priority.
As you may know, I’ve been working as a language coach for more than 10 years. Over the past three years, I focused on other language teaching projects. Now I have limited capacity again for one-to-one German coaching.
If you’re interested, here you can find all the information to contact me and check availability. Otherwise, feel free to continue with the next lesson.
What is language coaching?
Language coaching is different from traditional lessons. I won't teach you German grammar or vocabulary. You already have SmarterGerman for that.
Instead, I help you improve your learning methods and routines so they become more efficient and sustainable.
The actual content of our coaching sessions completely depends on the specific needs of the each student, but here are some general examples of what I commonly work on with my students.
Beginners (A1 - A2)
- identify student-specific challenges (e.g. based on native language)
- build a complete and balanced learning routine
- establish strong foundations for long-term learning
- identify and correct mistakes early (especially pronunciation and learning habits)
- specific learning tools and techniques, based on your background and skills (e.g. advanced flashcard creation, use of AI resources, browser extensions, etc.)
Intermediate (B1- C1)
- identify and address problems developed as a beginner
- help you get unstuck if you feel blocked or frustrated
- address causes of frustration in learning or interaction with German natives
- remove inefficient routines that slow you down
- enrich your training with new methods, to add variety
- introduce new exercises to strengthen your weak points
- transition into real native content and IRL language use
- use tools to assist you with native material (e.g. books, TV shows, comics, podcasts, etc.)
Advanced (for professionals, college students, scholars)
- how to approach complex syntax and technical vocabulary
- advanced techniques to process long and complex texts in German
- ways to simulate complex interactions
- how to prepare presentations and written work
- function effectively despite non-native language skills
- turn professional challenges into learning opportunities
Schedule and costs
We meet depending on your needs—weekly, every two weeks, or monthly.
On average, we start with weekly sessions, then move to less frequent meetings as you become more autonomous.
Rates:
- 60-minute session: 120 €
- 10-session package: 800 €
Our first meeting is always free of charge.
How to apply
If you’re interested, send me an email and briefly introduce yourself.
Email: info@thegermantutor.de
Please include:
- your native language
- other languages you speak or have studied
- why you are learning German
- your goals
- how long and how you’ve been learning German
- what you are struggling with (if applicable)
Based on this, I can get an initial picture of your situation and prepare for our first meeting. If I have available time slots we'll then schedule a first session (free of charge) to get to know each other and decide if and how we could work together.
Availability
My weekly availability is limited. If no slots are currently open, I can add you to a waiting list and contact you when a place becomes available.
