Reading Warm-Up Instructions
Read the text and notice the words that look familiar to you. No need to write them down or to look them up. When done, listen to the audio and read along. Pause at will. Even if you don't catch a single word, you're doing it right. This is perfectly normal. You'll see very soon how easily you'll recognize all these words.
How to approach this:
- Don't look up any words — The course will teach you everything systematically
- First 1-2 listens — Pause the audio frequently to let your brain absorb the new sounds
- Final listen — Play the full audio without pausing, regardless of comprehension
Track Your Progress
Write down what percentage of the text you understand right now. Zero percent? Perfect—that's your starting point.
At the end of this lesson, you'll read this text again and note your new percentage. You'll see this text again in 5 lessons.
Sometimes your understanding dips in reviews—totally normal. It comes back stronger.
Do this beginning-vs-end comparison for every lesson through Lesson 10.

The vocabulary tool only works in "Reading - Comprehension" lectures (coming next), not in these "Reading - Warm Up" sections. That's on purpose because I want you to feel where you are right now with your German. This is important so using a dictionary would rob you of an invaluable experience that will increase the level of trust you'll get into this course and of course me as your teacher.
