Manual Preaching

The next chapter of the Possessive Articles. This time we'll use them in the Akkusativ which you are already familiar with since Lesson 01. The endings are also known to you already, so there's not really much new grammar in this Preaching but practice makes perfect.

Got it? Then do each of the triggers below two times: once with Peter (=sein) and once with Maria (=ihr). Remember that articles change their endings depending on the noun that follows. E.g.:

  • Das ist Marias Tasche (f). Das ist ihr.e Tasche.
  • Das ist Peters Tasche (f). Das ist sein.e Tasche.

The -e ending at ihre and seine depends on Tasche and not on Maria's or Peter's gender. That will cause some confusion on the way but you can do this. Now give your best ;)

Pattern
A: Siehst du mein- + trigger?
B: Ich sehe dein- + trigger nicht. Ich sehe nur Marias / Toms trigger.
A: Ach, dann siehst du also ihr-/sein- + trigger.
B: Genau, ich sehe nur ihr-/sein- + trigger. Du hast es erfasst.

If the text Speechnotes transcribed is different by a lot from the transcription below, don't worry about it. You will do this a couple more times and you will see an improvement. If Speechnotes doesn't understand you, try to speak slowly, more articulated and use an external microphone e.g. a headset.
