How to get the most out of Dictations

Before you Begin

Please take note of the following points. They are extremely (!) important:

  1. LESS IS MORE
In the beginning (!) only work with the very first 2–3 sentences of the audio provided.
  2. KEEP IT SHORT
Pause the audio after 2 to 5 words and THEN write down what you have heard from memory. Try to increase the amount of words over time.
  3. NEVER MIND THE GAP
Never rewind the audio. If you can't understand a word just leave a gap.
  4. NO MULTITASKING
Do not write while you are listening. Always listen, pause then write down.
  5. LIMITED MISTAKES ONLY
If you make more than 15 mistakes, write fewer sentences.

Don't worry too much about remembering these points. I'll remind you again and again.

Now get a piece of paper ready or open your word processor and click on COMPLETE&CONTINUE to write your first dictation.
